Opportunity to help

“I want to be normal.”
-Sovelie Valme

Sovelie

Sovelie Valme is a nine-year-old girl born in Cabaret, Haiti. Since the age of three, she has developed a maxillary area growth extending to the area around her right eye. This growth has left her with constant eye discharge and has caused the gradual closure of her right eye. Her poor family could not afford medical attention. If left untreated, Sovelie will become blind. In her Creole language she said, “I want to be normal” with a good face and eyes.

Horizon International Medical Mission (HIMM), Inc. found Sovelie in our recent post- earthquake medical mission to Haiti. Her parents said her growth and general health are deteriorating fast. HIMM could not directly help, as this condition needs more detailed surgical and opthamological evaluation.  But, HIMM is seeking help for little Sovelie now.
