Efforts in Action “My hope is in God through you” -Chisom Ibe	Before After

Chisom is a 10 year old Nigerian boy from Ezi udo (Mbaise Local Government Area) in Imo state-Nigeria. He has been suffering form this maxillary tumor since the age of 2. Just like many other tumor it started as a small mass in the left upper jaw and rapidly grew over the next eight years. During this period it has covered the left nostril , caused difficulty in breathing, displaced the left upper teeth making it difficult to chew solid food, and all this left him anatomically disfigured and with stunted growth. He became socially alienated from his peers at home and at school.

Chisom was presented to our clinic at Ezi Udo where the HIMM team was welcomed by HRM Eze Desmond Ogugua. Chisom had been to taken to different medical centers in Nigeria without obtaining any help for his condition.The HIMM team was not able to help him at the presentation. Dr Okere, on his return to the United States, presented his case to HIMM’s partners, the medical ship, Mercy Africa docked in Cotonue - Republic of Benin. When Chrisom’s parents were told the good news that there was hope for Chisom, his mother said “My hope is in God through you doctor”. Chisom and his father were financially assisted by HIMM to attended the free surgery at Cotonue.

He is now back in school living normal life.

In a similar development, Mrs. Florence Uzoma is as 30 year old lady from Umuohie in Ngor Okpala LGA .She presented with lower jaw tumor that was fast growing. HIMM arranged for her surgery with mercy ship. Today she is living a normal life.
Chisom and Florence lacked the appropriate words to thank all HIMM supporters who helped them to begin life again..
